Kelsie is a multimedia artist who creates small-batch ceramics, earrings, prints, stickers, and more. Her work is inspired by her experiences as a contemporary Appalachian woman and often is decorated in bold colors, flowers, and statements about life and feelings. Through her studies at Marshall University and an MFA from Temple University, she has been able to incorporate other mediums—photography, fibers, printmaking—into her ceramic work. Her pieces are imbued with positive messages and often put function for everyday life at the forefront.

“In creating artwork like this, I hope to evoke vulnerability between me, my work, and viewers. I want the phrases I draw to be conversation starters with folks and that in those cones they can find vulnerability with one another and form some kind of connection because I think being vulnerable is a practice many people are missing in life (as if it is shameful).”
